In 2005 Bexley Primary Head Teachers decided to develop a creative curriculum which extended the principles of the Foundation Stage into Key Stages 1 and 2, in a brave bid to break free from the constraints of the existing content led curriculum. Volunteer teachers drawn from 64 schools across Bexley worked together and the Creative Learning Journey was
born!
The starting point for this project was to take the existing documentation being used in schools and develop a skills-based progression of skills from foundation to year 6 which could be delivered in creative cross-curricular themes.
